EMT6 Syngeneic Model
Synonyms: EMT-6 mammary carcinoma cell line, EMT6/E5 breast cancer cell line
EMT6 is a well-established cancer cell line derived from a murine mammary tumor, widely used in breast cancer research. Apart from investigating tumor biology and therapeutic interventions, EMT6 also offers the advantage of orthotopic implantation. This means the cells can be directly implanted into the mammary fat pad of mice, closely mimicking the natural growth environment of breast tumors. Orthotopic implantation of EMT6 allows researchers to study tumor progression, invasion, metastasis, and response to treatments in a more clinically relevant setting. This model facilitates the evaluation of novel therapeutic strategies and the assessment of treatment efficacy, providing valuable insights into breast cancer development and improving translational research efforts.
