# MC38 Syngeneic Model

**Synonyms:** MC-38, MC38 colon tumor cell line

MC38 is a widely studied cancer cell line derived from a murine colon adenocarcinoma. It serves as an important model in colorectal cancer research, providing insights into tumor biology, therapeutic interventions, and immune responses. MC38 cells exhibit characteristics similar to human colon adenocarcinoma, making them valuable for studying the disease. They have an epithelial morphology and are capable of forming tumors when implanted in animal models. Researchers utilize MC38 to investigate genetic alterations, signaling pathways, immune checkpoint regulation, and drug sensitivity in colorectal cancer. It has been extensively employed to evaluate the efficacy of various treatment approaches, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and combination therapies. The MC38 cell line plays a significant role in advancing our understanding of colorectal cancer and developing novel strategies for its diagnosis and treatment.
